#ETMOOC - An Introduction Video

A few weeks back a tweet went out about a massive open on-line course (MOOC) focussing on educational technology and media.  It has its own hashtag on twitter #ETMOOC, and it's own website at http://etmooc.org.  In typically Karen fashion, I signed up immediately and then started to wonder what I was getting myself into.

Our first assignment was to create an introductory video.  While I made this video a few days ago for some reason I didn't want to put it up on my blog. But after watching so many other introduction videos I felt it was time I shared mine too.  Here it is.

    1. Thanks Lora. I wasn't able to give this as much of my time as I would have liked to but I just have too much going on at the moment. Betting something than nothing though. :-)

  2. Thanks for sharing. I follow you on Twitter and I'm always interested in what you're doing in your classroom. I retired from teaching Grade 1 (in Summerland BC) in June 2012 but am still involved in teaching/learning in a various ways. #etmooc is really pushing my learning and I love it!

    1. I love Summerland! I wish I knew you during my IMC days as it would have been wonderful to have met and talked shop (I have a thing for meeting people F2F). Thanks for following what I've been up to too. It's been one change after another but over all it's been a lot of fun. I am trying to spend more time in the #etmooc community but a bit swamped with my day to day work at the moment. Lots on the plate, but slowly dealing with it all. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment too. :-)

  3. I enjoyed your introductory video. iMovie is one of my favorites. My first three years of teaching were in grade 1, so I wholeheartedly agree that the students at that age level are so much more than cute. Their enthusiasm and curiosity allow them to be open to so many learning opportunities. Thanks for sharing. See you around the MOOC!

    1. Looking forward tot seeing you too. So many places to connect. Some times I have to step back and just breath, before getting in again. Crazy I know but so much great stuff some times hurts my brain. Thanks for leaving a comment too. It made me smile.

  4. Karen.
Nice job! I'm so glad you shared your video. I like the pictures and hearing your voice. You are an inspiration of learning for your little ones. I like the list of things you are--runner, reader, writer, thinker, etc. I love "the more I learn, the more I realize how little I know" and you are the "voice of the little ones." Sweet!

    Thanks again,
    Denise

    1. Thanks Denise. I feel very fortunate to have you and so many others in my PLN. It's crazy what can happen when you put yourself out there. The little people are very near and dear to my heart. They continue to surprise me daily, and I want to share that with the world. I have to admit some times it gets discouraging when you're in a world of "big people" which just fuels my fire every more. Looking forward to one day being able to meet you face to face. Karen

  5. Karen,
It's so nice to hear your voice and see what is truly important to your learning. I'm a year behind you on Twitter, but I'm right with you with your beliefs and what excites you about learning. Enjoy the furiously fast learning in the MOOC, and please share the highlights!
    Sincerely,
    Joy

    1. Thanks Joy. I hope I'm able to give the MOOC enough of my attention. I feel over whelmed at times as I struggle to do all the things I want to do while trying hard to maintain balance in the rest of my life. I love to learn though so I will find a way to make it work. Thanks for stopping by. :-) Karen
