I am a K-4 teacher with the Vancouver School District (formerly teaching in Surrey Schools). With 30+ years of experience and a bunch of improvements along the way, I still have so much more to learn. This blog is a way to help me process and share all that I'm discovering on my quest to be the best educator I can be.

Playing with Audio Boo
A while back I told my students about a tool I had heard about on the internet called Audio Boo. I told them that one day we'd be able to record their reading and post them on either our class blog or their individual blogs. Anyhow I've just realized that I haven't yet tried Audio Boo myself. So this evening I did just that. I can't wait to try this with my students. I know they are going to love it and what a great authentic way to document their reading progress through out the year. Now if only I had recorded them back in September. They have already made so many gains.

Hi Karen,
ReplyDeleteI love using Audioboo too! Using my iPod Touch to do voice recordings is an incredibly motivating way for students to demonstrate their learning; I love that with Audioboo I can share that with a wider audience on our classroom blog. So far I have posted our food drive P.A. announcement, and I am getting ready to post a class recitation of "T'was the Night Before Christmas". One of my goals is to present my students' learning in as many ways as possible on the blog, and Audioboo is a great tool to help accomplish this.

Megan I think we have another topic for our chats while we run. I haven't used it with my class yet but I do plan to use it term two. It's such a powerful too. There are so many powerful tools out there to explore and learn. Never a dull day. I LOVE all the learning and sharing you're doing with your class. I can't wait for my students to get to your grade level. :-)
