I can assure you have had more then my share of apprehensive moment, and I've failed a zillion times too, but along the way I've learned a lot. Best of luck with your teaching career. 21 years in I still LOVE what I'm doing. :-)K Lirenmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16058037226665551154noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5730514995199630178.post-72167097091044321102013-03-05T21:01:37.905-08:002013-03-05T21:01:37.905-08:00Your ability to adapt and work with any technology...Your ability to adapt and work with any technology available has truly inspired me. It's an intimidating task to me, as a pre-service teacher, to consider using technology and relying on it for a lesson, yet to adapt and use such variety of technology in a classroom is truly inspirational. This post has demonstrated how technology can be used and adapted to meet any need you have in your classroom. I LOVED reading this post and hearing about your experience with Facetime and Skype. It's great to see teachers willing to use, and not to be intimidated by, the technology they have available to them.GoGoGauthiershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06030861562995568998noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5730514995199630178.post-55802631375979000112013-03-04T00:43:10.167-08:002013-03-04T00:43:10.167-08:00That is quite incredible when you stop and think a...That is quite incredible when you stop and think about it. Both what I did, and what you did could not be done with out technology. Things are changing so fast and I hope that I can at least stay a float. :-)

Thanks for stopping by. I'm glad that you could problem solve all of these small issues, and show just how wonderful technology can be (especially when combined with other forms of technology).

My crazy tech story is no where near as crazy as yours, but this year I had a student away in Florida for 2 weeks, and she chose to FaceTime in for a Math Lesson and a Social Studies Planning Activity Time. When she FaceTimed in for Math, she not only stayed for the lesson and asked questions, but she even joined a group later, and planned with them from Florida. Then a few days later, she FaceTimed back in to work with her Social Studies group, and even used texting to share files with her other group members. It's amazing what technology allows us to do!

Keep sharing!
Aviva
www.weinspirefutures.comAviva (@avivaloca)http://www.weinspirefutures.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5730514995199630178.post-75004457464386133772013-02-20T21:49:58.122-08:002013-02-20T21:49:58.122-08:00Yes, my class and I have learned a long time ago t...Yes, my class and I have learned a long time ago that technology often doesn't work as we expect it should. But we have also learned how to problem solve, how to stay cam when things go wrong, and how to stay focussed on the goal. I'm smiling reading that my post has gotten you mind spinning because that is exactly what happens to me when I read blog posts. :-) Thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment. And it speaks highly to your positive attitude that you re-tell this story not as an example of why tech is terrible, but as an exapmle of how we can problem solve and make things work for the benefit of kids. Well done.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14722255905347317419noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5730514995199630178.post-61869333572225575822013-02-19T05:50:47.905-08:002013-02-19T05:50:47.905-08:00I don't have a crazy tech happening to share f...I don't have a crazy tech happening to share from my classroom, but I did want to thank you for posting this. It has my mind spinning thinking of all the possibilities! I have several classrooms that we are "Skype buddies" with and we have also used ooVoo so that we can speak to more than one classroom at a time. I love your FaceTime/Skype solution that you used! :)

Laurie
MorningSunFirstGradeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
